What size Drinking Post do I need - 6' or 8'?
Determining the correct size of Drinking Post horse waterer you need is determined by the frost line depth in your local area. The frost line is the maximum depth that the ground will freeze in the winter. Proper installation requires that the BASE of The Drinking Post be installed a minimum of 18" below your local frost line to prevent freezing in the winter.
Once you determine your local frost line depth, add 18". If this number is equal to or less than 36", order a 6' post. If you local frost line depth, plus 18" is greater than 36", order an 8' Drinking Post.
Where should I install The Drinking Post?
The Drinking Post can be installed anywhere you have a pressurized water line with at least 45 psi of pressure. This includes in pastures, barns, paddocks, on a fence line...ANYWHERE.

Do I need to perform any type of maintenance to keep The Drinking Post from freezing?
No. The Drinking Post can stand unused indefinitely and still produce fresh water on demand. However, As with any sound horse management program (even horses on pasture) each horse, his housing, and equipment, should be visually checked on a daily basis. Any health, injury, or maintenance problems can be easily identified at this time.
Will my horse know how to use The Drinking Post?
